Patrick qualified as a vet Dublin in 1972 and has worked in Anglesey, Canada, and Ireland before finally settling in this beautiful corner of Cornwall. Patrick’s passion for animal care clearly rubbed off on his family and his son Jonathan is now a partner in Animal Vets.
Jonathan McCotter joined the practice in 2007 along with his wife Claire shortly after. Jonathan and Claire met at vet school at St Georges University, Grenada. It’s a long way from Grenada to Cornwall, but Jonathan and Claire wouldn’t wish to be anywhere else and live in St Ives with their three children.
Over the past 25 years, the practice has grown to employ over 20 people and in 2011 a branch practice was opened in Carbis Bay. We couldn’t be more proud of our fantastic team of vets, nurses and support staff as it’s them who make our practice what it is today.
We also wouldn’t be where we are today without out amazing clients. People and their pets come from Lands end to the Lizard and from St Ives to Newquay because they know we pride ourselves on highest possible standard of patient care.
We’re also dedicated to nurturing a future generation of veterinary professionals and are an approved training centre for veterinary nurses. We also very proud to be an accredited practice with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and have maintained that status year after year because of the high standards we achieve.
